St. Benedict's Clergy

On June 29, 2010, the Vestry of St. Benedict's Episcopal Church called its first rector, Rev. Brian Sullivan.  Rev. Sullivan's first day will be August 15th.  In respect for Rev. Sullivan, his family, and the parish he is leaving, please refrain from contacting Rev. Sullivan during this transition time.

If you have questions about financial or building issues, please contact Sr. Warden, Jack Sickling.  If you have questions about the day-to-day operations of the parish, please contact Fr. Stuart Higginbotham.

The Rev. Stuart Higginbotham, Senior Associate

The Reverend Stuart Craig Higginbotham received his Masters of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and the Diploma in Anglican Studies from The School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.  Prior to being ordained an Episcopal priest, Stuart was actively involved in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and was both a hospital and hospice chaplain.

Stuart's current ministry at St. Benedict's focuses on Spiritual Formation, Liturgy and Worship, Pastoral Care, and Membership Development.  He has offered various classes and retreats throughout the Diocese of Atlanta, with a special emphasis on inter-religious dialogue and experiences of contemplative prayer.  He is also excited about developing new frameworks for Confirmation classes and other forums for new members to The Episcopal Church.

Stuart is currently an Associate at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, in Maryland, and will spend the next two years participating in a program that focuses on the development of contemplative leadership models in the Church. More information on the Shalem Institute can be found at www.shalem.org

For written copies of his sermons and other musings, check out Stuart's blog at www.persistentwhisper.blogspot.com

Stuart can be reached via email or at 678-279-4303.  Give him a call; he'd love to take you to lunch or coffee!
