Stewardship
And God placed all things under Christ’s feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him Who fills everything in every way.

Stewardship Campaign 2010
Fall is nearly upon us and excitement is growing as we prepare to move into our permanent parish home. Your contributions of time, talent, and pledges have provided endless possibilities for Christian growth and relationships throughout the Oakdale Community and surrounding Smyrna and Vinings. Our congregation has been described by this community as “refreshing” and offering “Radical hospitality with realistic and authentic members.” St. Benedicts is truly breathing life into the tradition of “The Episcopal Church Welcomes You”.
With this letter, I introduce you to our 2010 Stewardship ministry theme: “Get Connected and Grow in Christ.” In the upcoming months, we invite you to consider making a pledge for 2010 to St. B’s. Your pledge is a sacramental sign of your participation in God’s mission in this community. With our common pledge, we proclaim God’s call upon—and presence within—all aspects of our lives. We ask you to spread the “Radical Hospitality” of St. B’s work and ministry to the Oakdale Community, and we encourage you to connect with fellow parishioners. The next few months have many not-to-be missed events. We will meet new clergy, move into our new church home, have our annual parish meeting, and gather at social events. All of these are opportunities to develop new friendships, learn about new church life, discover our ministry of environmental stewardship, shop at the Farmer’s Market, and experience our growing number of adult, youth and children’s spiritual formation and Christian education offerings.
I look forward to spreading the good news of St. Benedict’s; how we as a community are effective stewards of time, talent, treasure, and the mysterious secret ingredient…relationships.
Peace,
Chris Wiley
