If our EYC bowling outing was an example of our skills, then we are ready to take on the Baptists! (They are known for winning church league bowling.) Both our youth advisors and staff - with the exception of the Vicar, who needs lessons - showed how to knock down the pins. Take a look at all the action in our photo album.

 | | | Happy Thanksgiving!
|
On behalf of the staff of St. Benedict's Mission Church, please let me extend our prayers for each of you on Thanksgiving Day. We pray for safe travels, the joy of being together with family and friends, and a peaceful holiday. (I also pray that the photo to the right will be relegated to the dust bin of history!)
In particular, it is my hope that we all think about the underlying meaning of Thanksgiving Day. It is a day where we give thanks to God in recognition that we are not entitled to the blessings of life. Yet we give thanks because even though we do not deserve these blessings, God gives them to us because God loves us unconditionally.
Thanks to so many St. B's members who have expressed their appreciation to God by extending their blessings to others by helping us with our food drive for MUST Ministries. Thanks to our children and youth who attended the hike up Kennesaw Mountain, and our EYC bowling extravaganza. Because of their efforts we delivered a carload of food to the MUST Ministries Food Pantry.
We give this food to MUST Ministries in thanksgiving for the love of God who gives us so many blessings. With this offering, we give thanks for a community who not only understands what it means to be thankful but who extends their blessings of love to others. Happy Thanksgiving!!
The peace of God,

| "Insights Into the Art of Living" Humility
Cultivate humility. To be exalted is to be in danger.
Pride is considered a sin because it warps our existence. It establishes our lives on a false foundation.
No one can win all the time. Therefore, a life based on bettering others will always be unfulfilled.
The way to affiliation to the sublime is not to add, but it is to take away more each day until we have been freed, even from the desire for perfection.
