A Welcome from the Vicar

by The Rev. Lang Lowrey

Welcome to St. Benedict's Episcopal Church!

On behalf of Bishop J. Neil Alexander (welcome letter) and the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, I would like to introduce to you St. Benedict's Episcopal Church the most recent church in our diocese of 95 churches now being planted in New Vinings/Smyrna, Georgia. (church planting information letter)

Our purpose in establishing St. Benedict's is to create a vibrant community of worshipers who share a common goal of forging a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.  As a reflection of our namesake, St. Benedict, we are founded on a belief in the traditional liturgy of the church coupled with the need to develop contemporary relationships that recognize the real-world challenges inherent in today's society.  Our mission statement reflects these core beliefs:

The mission of St. Benedict's Episcopal Church is to come together as a community to grow in faith and share Christ's love with an ever-changing world.

I would like to invite you to join the effort to plant a new church, day school, pastoral counseling/spiritual direction center and fellowship hall in the New Vinings area. Please contact me (ext. 4301) orPatty Jones (ext. 4302) to discuss this invitation.

I look forward to becoming a part of the Vinings community and hope you will join us on this exciting journey as we seek to Grow in Faith together!

Peace,

Lang+
