Bishop Allan Closes out our Grow In Faith Series,
New Church on an Old Rock:
Join us on May 18, 2008 as Bishop Frank Allan (Bishop of the Atlanta Diocese from 1989 - 2000) concludes our series New Church on an Old Rock that has focused on what it means to be an Episcopalian. Bishop Allan will discuss the Nicene Creed and God as the maker of all things visible and invisible. He'll offer both theological and scientific perspectives as well as provide an opportunity to develop an understanding of its implications to our shared faith.
The Adult Education program is held in the Parent Resource Room in the main school building at 9:30 am.
Please join us and bring a friend on Sunday, May 18. Come at 9:00 and enjoy breakfast and then join us at 9:30 a.m. for an insightful discussion. Then, stick around for worship at 10:30 a.m.

Stuart is Coming!!! Stuart is Coming!!!
Saint Benedict's will soon be getting a new priest to help us as we continue our impressive growth. Reverend Stuart Higginbotham will soon be arriving on May 15th to begin service as a Transitional Deacon at St. Benedicts after completing Angilcan Studies at The University of the South. He is scheduled to be ordained into the Priesthood in June 2008. He brings with him his wife, Lisa and 15-month old daughter, Evelyn Clare.

A No Shopping or Chopping Evening

Cooking with Girlfriends makes the task go by much faster. Add some snacks and a glass of wine... and you have a good time in the making. Come and join the St. Benedict's Women's group on May 20th as they gather at My Girlfriend's Kitchen for an evening of fellowship while preparing a few meals for home. Click Here for more details.
The Youth go to Stone Mountain on May 18th.
School's almost out, join St. B's youth group as we celebrate the start of Summer with a visit to Stone Mountain!
We'll leave after church, have a picnic lunch at the base of the mountain, and then hike to the top for a view not to be missed!

Choir and Hymnal Commissioning on May 4th
Thanks to St. B's paparazzi, Pam Adams, for providing the pictures of the commissioning of the St. Benedict's Adult and Children's Choir on May 4th. Also that day, we were blessed to have a contingent of St. Anne's folks who kindly donated the hymnals that we use in the service.
Young Adult Community (YAC) Meets for Mojitos and Mosquitos
The Young Adult Community had it's inagural meeting on May 4th at the home of Lang and Julie Lowery. The weather was perfect, the mosquitos didn't show up and a good time was had by all. The next YAC meeting is tenatively scheduled for the end of summer. If you are interested in attending, please contact Courtney Vaughn to provide her with your contact information. St. Benedict's Spirit Shines Through The Rain at The Smyrna Jonquil Festival
Green Eggs and Ham were Just the Start of a Great Earth Day Sunday
Thanks to the Green Team for hosting a great breakfast, giving us a chance to recycle our used batteries, and helping us learn about using compact florescent lights. $12 was raised through the Rent-A-Mug initiative where the money raised will be used for greening up and landscaping the new church property.
