About St. B's Cross

The cross is not only the instrument of Jesus' death, but also the main symbol of the Christian faith and Christian life, reflecting generosity, love, and sacrifice. It is also the recognizable symbol of a particular church. Each church selects a cross  to reflect their expression of community and Christ's love.

We at St. Benedict's are in a unique situation in that we are building a church from scratch, bringing together people in a "...community to grow in faith and share Christ's love with an ever-changing world."

It is the people who grow in faith, share in Christ's love, and thus create our community. People build a community with their unique experiences and histories, each different yet each offering a valuable part to the growth of the whole. We build a church, in part, with our different places on the journey of faith.

St. Benedict's cross reflects this coming together of differing experiences, personalities, and lives; all intersecting with each other and held together by the love of Jesus Christ.
