Daughters of the King
Who We Are
The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service, and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. We are an order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, churches in communion with it, or churches in the Historic Episcopate. Today our membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.
Vision Statement
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God's love throughout the world.
The Rule of Service
Through her Rule of Service, a Daughter daily seeks to do the will of God where she is, remembering Jesus' words,
The Rule of Service is the application of one's baptismal vow, reaffirmed by Confirmation:
To be Christ's faithful servant in the extension of His Kingdom
To regularly take part in the worship, study and work of the Church.
To render at all times aid to the clergy as deemed necessary for the spiritual up-building of the parish.
The Motto of the Order
For His Sake...
I am but one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?
How to become involved:
St. Benedicts is in the process of starting a brand new chapter of Daughters of the King. We are currently in the process of determining what our purpose is at St. Benedicts and how we intend to fulfill God's calling for women's prayer and study in this congregation. If you are interested in becoming a member, this is a GREAT time to get started!
Before becoming a member of the Order, there is a discernment process which will begin within the next few weeks for those who are interested.
