Carpool Guidelines

Carpool Guidelines   |  Traffic Flow Map   |  Drop Off   |   Pick Up

Because the school and church property are situated in the middle of a very busy section of town, it is very important to create a safe and efficient carpool system.  See Map.

When picking up and droping off your children, we ask that you keep the safety guidelines in mind.

  • Please refrain from using your cellphone once you enter the parking lot area.  If someone else is picking up your child, please make sure they are aware of this.

  • Keep your child buckled up until a staff member is available to help them out of the car.

  • Please do not get out of your car.  Doing so, slows the drop off and pick up procedures and creates a saftey hazard for both you and your children.

  • Follow the directions of the staff member in the parking lot.  He or she is responsible for the overall flow of vehicles in order to keep all parties safe.

  • Be aware of and be courteous to the parents around you.

  • If you would like to bring your child into the building, please park in a parking spot and walk carefully across so that the curb area can be used for parents dropping off.

  • DO NOT leave your car in the carpool lane even for just a minute.  Because of where we are located, back-ups occur quickly and you will  not only annoy other parents but people living in the neighborhoods around us who are delayed because of traffic back-ups.

Drop Off

Drop off begins at 9 AM; there will be a staff member there to help the children out of the car and into the school.  If you arrive early, please remain in your car or on the sidewalk with your children securely in your control.

If you arrive late for drop off, please pull up to the curb side or into a parking spot and bring your child to the door.  Once at the door, ring the bell and we will come get your child.

Pick Up

Pick up begins at 12:45 pm.  If you need to have your child picked up early for appointments, or other afternoon commitments, please give us a call or send in a note.

Things to keep in mind:

  • In order to make sure children are safely secured for their ride, pick-up generally take more time than drop off.  Your patience is greatly appreciated.

  • While we may buckle children in their seats, it is your responsiblity to check all car seat restraints to ensure your child's safety after leaving the carpool line.

  • Please stay in your car.  This is safer and saves much needed time.

  • Again, please be courteous to the parents around you, refrain from using your phone and obey staff member directions.
