St. Benedict's Episcopal Day School

St. Benedict's Episcopal Church is excited to be teaming up with Vinings Academy to start a new preschool and kindergarten to  Historic Oakdale  (close to Smyrna and Vinings area). Located near the corner of the East-West Connector and Atlanta Road, the school will use a multi-modal educational approach that uses teams of teachers to prepare students for academic achievement.

St Benedict's Episcopal Church is a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and as a result it currently operates directly under the diocese.  We expect to receive parish status at the end of 2008.  In order to open the school in the Fall of 2008, the St. Benedict's Episcopal Day School will use the Vinings Academy name for business operations for the school year 2008.  We expect to consolidate the two entities in Fall of 2009 and use the name "St. Benedict's Episcopal Day School".

Building on the Vinings Academy international preschool model, St. Benedict's Episcopal Day School will continue to expose children to different languages, different cultures and provide them the building blocks to becoming multilingual. This approach provides for a dynamic learning environment that stimulates children and encourages them to become self-initiated learners. Expanding the program to include kindergarten, the new school at St. Benedict's will build upon many of the program strengths of the Vinings Academy.
